Ericsson has signed a seven-year €1.5bn contract to manage the 3 network in the UK. More than 1,000 staff in network and IT functions will transfer from 3 to Ericsson.
Last year 3 Italy signed a similar deal with Ericsson, but this is the Swedish group’s largest managed-services contract to date. Bob Fuller, chief executive of 3, said it would help the operator to focus on its core business.
