Dramatic pics win Nokia award

One of the most powerful images of the last decade is today announced as the winner of the Nokia Citizen Journalism Awards 2006. The image depicts the harrowing moments after the bomb exploded in Tavistock Square, London, on 7 July 7 2005. It was featured in a number
of national newspapers and was broadcast by the BBC.

The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, wins a Nokia N90 cameraphone, photo printer and membership to the Flickr photo sharing website which they are donating to a London bombings charity for auction.

In second place was a dramatic image of the Buncefield oil depot explosion taken from a plane.

Third went to another 7/7 image, this time one taken just after the Piccadilly line explosion.
