Fuller says farewell

Bob Fuller is to step down this month as CEO of 3 UK, shortly after his 60th birthday. 3 hasn’t yet made any money for its owners, Hutchison, but reportedly it’s on track to start delivering profits next year.

Bob Fuller first joined the Hutchison Group in 1982 and became COO of Orange UK in 1997. He rejoined Hutchison as Co-CEO of H3G Italia in September 2001 and moved to become Co-CEO of 3UK in May 2003. During his four years at 3, Fuller has established the network as an enthusiastic proponent of 3G-based content, notably video and music, and unlike some of its competitors has embraced upcoming services like IM and VoIP – the flat-rate data pricing and add-on services of the X-Series tariffs have shown other networks a way forward past voice-and-text.

His deputy, Kevin Russell, steps into his position. Russell has been with Hutchison since 1995 and become CEO of Hutchison Australia in 2001. He’s been Deputy CEO of 3UK since January.
