One of Virgin Mobile’s fun polls showed that over a third of a sample of 2,000 people had numbers unknown to the phone owner in the phone’s addressbook. The average user to adding between three and six unidentifiable numbers per month; Virgin calculates that this means around 576m unknown numbers were added to mobile phones in 2006 alone.
