Q - How long have you worked for Excalibur?
Three years.

Q - What was your first paid employment?
I first started out on the markets selling fruit and veg at the ripe old age of 14. The methods and the cheekiness I picked up there has stood me in good stead for the rest of my career.

Q - What made you move into the mobile phone industry?
A very good friend of mine who had worked for the company for several years approached me about a job with Excalibur.

Q - What is the best aspect about your job?
Without doubt the hunt for new business. There is no better feeling than landing a Big Fish Order ...

Q - What is the worst aspect?
The continuing struggle to keep on top of the endless mountain of paperwork.

Q - What is the best sales incentive you have ever won?
I recently won a state-of-the-art music centre.

Q - If you could suggest an incentive what would it be?
A trip to somewhere warm! Unfortunately sunny Essex is not so sunny at the moment.

Q - What do you like most about the mobile industry?
The endless stream of new and innovative technology. I love having the opportunity to play with new products during our daily sales meetings ...

Q - What do you like least?
Returns. At Excalibur we deal with all Returns within 24 hours, but this does mean that we must work above and beyond the call of duty! I suppose this is a price worth paying for our key accounts.

Q - If you could change anything about the industry what would it be?
Dishonesty. It makes me cringe when I hear other distributors promising things that they will never be able to deliver, just to get a sale. Ultimately it’s the customer who suffers.

Q - If you could design a mobile handset what functions would it have?
As I am a bit of a showman on the side I would love a mobile with a full karaoke machine – with downloadable applause.

Q - If you were a mobile phone what would you be and why?
A Nokia 9300i – because the way we both communicate is second to none!

Q - What handset do you currently use?
Samsung D600 – I fell in love with the camera when it first came out.

Q - Who inspires you?
Richard Branson. The man had goals and set out to achieve them – and boy how I would like his money!

Q - What would your dream occupation be?
I have always wanted to be my own boss and recently set up a company with a close friend for entertainment agency work. It is hard running this while working full time at Excalibur, but I hope one day it will all be worth it.

Q - What do you think about being awarded DM of the month?
Overjoyed and truly honoured. It is nice to be appreciated by those that mean the most – our customers!

If you’ve had good service from a distributor, don’t hold back -
