Mobile Phone First for Data Records

Networks & Network Services
Data Records are to release Ida Corr vs Fedde Le Grand's new single upfront and exclusively through mobile phone operator stores.

'Let Me Think About It' by Ida Corr Vs Fedde le Grand will be released on 17th September for stores run by Vodafone, 3, Orange and T-Mobile, and on 24th September for all physical and online retailers. A label first for Data and also the first time all mobile networks are committing!

'Let Me Think About It' follows on from the huge success of 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' and 'The Creeps' and is shaping up to be one of the biggest dance records of the year. It's already riding high on the A-list at Radio 1 and is at number 1 in the all important Shazam Pre-Release Tag Chart, while the video has had 65,000 YouTube hits in just a week.

Patrick Hagenaar, Head of Mobile (Recordings) Ministry of Sound comments: " For the past 12 months now we have been considering to pre-release one of our records exclusively through mobile, but we feel that now the time is right. With ‘Let Me Think About It’ shaping up to be a massive hit and mobile starting to play an increasingly significant role in the Official charts it makes sense to  offer this to our mobile partners."

"Three, Vodafone, T-mobile & Orange are all fantastic channels for us to reach music fans in the UK and, unlike any other channel, offer instant access to our music. At Ministry of Sound, we are constantly looking for ways to support our mobile partners and we feel that with the recent addition of the mobile stores to the Official Chart panel means that we can work closely with the mobile operators to push our releases and see the results in Official Singles Chart.’’
