Morrow to go

Vodafone Group Plc today announces that Bill Morrow, a ten-year veteran of Vodafone’s senior management echelon and currently head of Vodafone Europe, has decided to leave the business to return to the US for family reasons. He has been Chief Executive of Vodafone UK and was President of Vodafone Japan in which role he oversaw the sale to Softbank earlier this year. This departure genuinely seems to be a personal matter; he had been widely tipped to join the executive board, and Vodafone certainly doesn’t have a replacement lined up – he’s being succeeded “on an interim basis” by Fritz Joussen currently Chief Executive of Vodafone Germany, and “an international search for a permanent successor has started”.
