NOKIA 6233

Networks & Network Services
A classically- styled medium-sized candybar with the look of some Nokia budget mobiles but a feature set more like the 6280’s, the Nokia 6233 is a good non-smartphone 3G solution.
It offers a great TFT display, excellent stereo speakers with 3D effects, hot-swappable microSD card slot, and a 2mp camera capable of capturing video. Unusual extras include Push-to-Talk and ‘instant SMS’ – messages appear as soon as they are received.
A separate front-mounted video call camera would have been good, but at least the 6233 can use the top-notch VGA resolution for video. The camera is a bit basic, with no macro mode and no LED flash. We found the side buttons rather hard to press, and the web browser is way too simple: most non-WAP sites are just unusable, and searching with Google is a nightmare.
Still ,we were impressed by the general usability. It is user-configurable in almost every possible way, the menu is organised logically; and most of the drawbacks of other Series 40 phones have been sorted.
• A worthy successor to the 6230 and 6230i business phones.
