NOKIA 6270

Networks & Network Services
Part It’s been some time now that the Nokia The 6270 has been on the market for some time now, and it’s selling pretty well. It’s quite stylish, has a 2mp camera, features a large display and great 3D stereo sound; along with the good connectivity options, that might make it quite appealing.
But it’s a bit of beast – thick and heavy for a non-3G non-smartphone slider, especially when set against the 6280. That phone has a near identical spec, except it also offers UMTS support with video calls, smaller dimensions and weight, and VGA (640x480 pixels) video resolution. The 6270 looks like a conservative throwback,

Admittedly it will probably grow on you. During our tests it turned out to offer abundant user-configurable options to make your life easier. In particular the menu is organised logically; functions are detailed, offering high control comfort and brilliant work efficiency.

But that’s not enough. The drawbacks – the size and weight, the lack of playlists support for the music player, the low camera picture quality and the hefty price would surely make a lot of people turn their backs to it.

• Other phones that offer equal functionality with far better design.
