I have worked for Avenir Telecom for over six years. 2. What was your first paid employment? I started off my career working for a re-insurance company. Six months of commuting to London: it really wasn’t my thing!3. What made you move into the mobile phone industry? I must be a road warrior; I really wanted to get on the road. But the fact that the industry is so dynamic and varied were also factors that really appealed to me.4. What is the best aspect about your job? I love being in a different place every day. Also, it’s a really challenging job, so there is never time to get bored. 5. What is the worst aspect? Mobile speed cameras.6. What is the best sales incentive you have ever won? There have been some nice holidays and gifts, but being happy in your job is the best reward.7. If you could suggest an incentive what would it be? Personally I would like to see a lot of the money spent more wisely for all the industry, not just for a select few. 8. What do you like most about the mobile industry? The constant change.9. What do you like least? The politics.10.If you could change anything about the industry what would it be? I would like to see greater respect and professionalism throughout all levels of the channel, whether it’s at a network, distributor or dealer level.11.If you could design a mobile handset what functions would it have? I would design the Blackberry, only Rim went and beat me to it!12.If you could capture any image and send as a picture message what would it be, who would you send it to, and why? My manager buying a round – because it’s not happened yet!13.If you were a mobile phone what would you be and why? XDA2 – professional, multi functioned but maybe a bit too chunky.14.What handset do you currently use? Blackberry and Nokia 6230i.15.If you were a ringtone, what would you be and why? Red, red wine (do I need to explain?)16.What ringtone do you currently use? It’s called “Cliff’s Madrigal” and a friend wrote it for me – cheers, Ian!17.What (if any) is your favourite game played on your mobile phone? Asteroids.18.What type of music do you listen to when travelling around in the car? It varies – at the moment it’s the soundtrack to “Lost In Translation”.19.Who inspires you and why? My wife – she has the alarm clock and gets me out of bed in the morning.20.What would your dream occupation be and why? Quality controller at Cadburys.21.And finally ...
