Orange first for super SIM

Orange will be the first UK mobile operator to offer the Super SIM, a 128MB flash memory SIM card produced by Sagem Orga. It will come preloaded with SNAPin’s SelfService Configure software; customers can turn their mobile into an Orange Signature handset simply by inserting the Super SIM and booting up.
All the necessary Orange network settings, along with the Orange home screen, Packet Video player, F-Secure anti-virus client and a whole series of Orange branded wallpapers and themes will be installed upon activation, a three-minute process.

More important, there’s enough memory on the SIM to remove the need for an extra memory card. It can be used just like any phone memory, and can also be accessed from a PC via a USB connection.

Initially the Super SIM will ship with the HTC S310 smartphone at £129.99 PAYG.
