Phone virus infects PCs

A virus that attempts to spread from smartphones to a user’s PC has been discovered. Cardtrap.A, a Trojan that attacks Symbian phones, attempts to infect a PC if the user inserts the phone’s memory card into a computer. The substantial degree of involvement required from the user means the threat is considered distinctly low-level, especially as it won’t affect many Windows systems (including Windows XP), but anti-virus experts consider that it may presage more sophisticated viruses designed for transfer between mobile devices and PCs.
