Luis Picaso, 59, is in a critical condition with burns after being found in his hotel room in Vallejo, California. The fire reportedly started in his pocket, which contained a Nokia 2125 that was immediately fingered as the culprit.
Nokia engineers hotfooted it to the scene and apparently proved that it couldn’t have been the phone – they were even able to switch it on. Picaso’s lawyer said this was like asking an arsonist if he started the fire. Polyester clothes and drink may have been involved, according to speculation in the press, but at least Picaso didn’t smoke. Well, not before the event, anyhow.
