Q What was your first paid employment? What did you spend your first pay-packet on?
Paper boy at the age of 13 – spent it on fishing tackle, if my memory serves correct. I did get a job as a waiter but left after a couple of weeks as I earned more money washing cars at the weekend than working every evening in the restaurant!

Q How long have you worked for Unique?
Almost three years now. I was inbetween jobs and trawled websites of local businesses. When I called Unique I was put through to James Cooper (Sales Manager) by accident and the rest is history.

Q What is the best aspect of your job?
Developing accounts from scratch and building relationships with customers – and naturally making an income from it!

Q And what is the worst?
The frustration of manufacturer stock shortages. Also, seeing so many people using phones while driving when there are so many handsfree devices available – let’s hope the new law makes the roads safer.

Q What’s your ultimate ambition?
To conclude a major international sales deal that puts a million profit in my back pocket! (But no, I’m not looking to be an arms dealer!)

Q Your home is on fire and you can rescue only one thing. What is it?
Definitely not my girlfriend – she’s the only thing that’s insured!

Q What’s the first record or CD you bought?
Cameo, Word Up – still a favourite at parties but not something I would play at home. I’ve recently bought Razorlights, Killers and Paulo Nutini to refresh my collection.

Q If you could change anything about the mobile industry and your role in it, what would it be and why?
Ironing out fake products from the UK and world markets. We set our case last year by being the only UK distributor to buy from only from Nokia UK. Perhaps I could become the Nokia international license protection manager – I may not make the million but at least I’d get to travel the world!

Q Marmalade or Marmite?
Christ not Marmite – marmalade for sure.

Q Chelsea or not?
The Kings Road for sure – but the football team: God no!

Q If you were a mobile phone, which would you be and why?
The new Nokia N95, an all rounder of the highest calibre.

Q You’re designing a mobile handset for the future. What functions would it have and why?
Press the red button to fly – saves all those traffic jams!

Q What ringtone do you currently use?
And if you were a ringtone, what would you be and why? Ring Ring and Ring Ring – you know what you’re getting!

Q What’s the question you are asked most often in the average working week?
“How do people get away with supplying counterfeiting products?”

Q What keeps you awake at night?
Not much unless my four year old son decides to come and wake me up at some silly time for a cup of tea and biscuits – which he often does!

Q Who inspires you and why?
My son inspires me to do better. My objective is to ensure that he has a secure start to life and benefits from all the things that I didn’t.

Q And finally – what do you think about being awarded DM of the month?
I’m well chuffed and really grateful. I would like to thank all of my customers for their business.
