Tenth anniversary of the Palm Pilot

MSPs

To some extent this is where it all began: it’s the tenth anniversary of the Palm Pilot, the first real PDA and progenitor of today’s smartphone. The original Pilot organiser, which sold for $299, owed its success largely to two breakthrough features: the ability to synchronise easily with a computer and its unprecedented ease of use, both pretty radical at the time. Palm has shipped more than 34m products since then; today’s top-of-the-line product is the Treo smartphone.
