Thumbs up for LG's new U400

Aimed at the music market, taking on Sony's Walkman phones and Nokia's Xpress series, LG launch the U400. The latest in its range of high quality 3G video mobiles, this slick, slimline slider boasts an external scroll wheel that allows easy navigation through a range of cutting edge features and is completely ‘thumb friendly’.
With this handset LG have ditched a normal navigator pad in favour of a DJ deck style jog-wheel a little like an iPod. Unlike the iPod, however, the wheel physcially moves, giving a more tactile feel. It also doubles up as a five-way navigator giving users the best of both worlds.

There is a reason behind this, using LG's MY DJ music software, you can supposedly scratch records just like a real DJ. You can also compose yoru own ringtones.

The phone comes with 68mb of internal memory and a 512mb microSD card. With 4gb cards now on the market uploading your tunes won't be an issue.

The handset is exclusive to 3, and takes advantage of their award winning music store. Music and footie fans can spin their way through 3’s mobile entertainment services from Barclays Premiership highlights to The Hive - 3’s exclusive music TV show presented by Tom Dunne.

Susan Branchflower, Head of Marketing, 3, said; “This slick, stylish 3G handset celebrates the genius of the wheel, allowing mobile media fans to whizz around 3’s cutting edge repertoire of mobile entertainment. The nifty wheel function allows hassle-free access to 3’s extensive music store.”
