Project Gigabit: One year since the launch

We are publishing a special Market Report feature on ‘Project Gigabit: One year since the launch’ due to appear in Comms Business March 2022 edition.

Project Gigabit: One year since the launch – Market Report Synopsis & Questions

This feature will reflect on progress made to the government’s target of at least 85 per cent of UK premises to have access to gigabit-broadband by 2025, one year after the launch of Project Gigabit. We will discuss what the path ahead looks like, and whether additional support is needed to take next generation connectivity to every premise across the UK.

We will ask:

  • What progress has been made to gigabit-capable deployments in the last year? Where does full fibre fit into this?
  • What do you make of the government’s current strategy? What (if any) changes should be made?
  • What milestones do you expect will be reached this year?
  • What opportunities remain for the channel?
