20:20 Mobile Offers Businesses Tailored Mobile Phone Recycling Programme

Networks & Network Services
20:20 Mobile, a leading distributor of mobile phones and accessories within Europe, is offering businesses a mobile phone recycling solution to help them offer customers a quick and easy way to trade in and recycle their old and unwanted mobile phones.

With 20:20 Mobile’s end-to-end customisable mobile phone recycling programme, companies are able to offer an additional service to customers, offering them a cash incentive or trade-in value for unused handsets. This improves customer satisfaction and retention rates, increasing online conversion rates and driving additional traffic to the store.

Companies can choose from a range of recycling programmes to suit their needs, including an off-the-shelf white label website – giving companies a ready-to-use recycling solution, or a custom built white label website – offering greater flexibility in design and content. Other recycling programme options include an in-store transactional solution to offer a recycling service at till points or customer service desks.

The recycling programme also offers companies a new revenue stream, with 20:20 Mobile compensating businesses for handsets recycled by customers, and lets them meet social corporate responsibilities by using authorised WEEE treatment facility recycling methods.

The flexible programme can be delivered as a turn-key or bespoke solution and can be branded with any company’s details, letting any mobile phone provider, including retail chains, ecommerce retailers and network operators, use 20:20 Mobile’s expertise and industry knowledge to offer its customers an easy-to-use mobile phone recycling service.

James Browning, Managing Director for 20:20 Mobile, said: “Consumer awareness of phone recycling is increasing, creating great opportunities for established businesses to offer their own recycling service in creative ways. Our white label solution means organisations can have their own mobile handset recycling service up and running with minimal management, safe in the knowledge that they will be offering a competitive service with the logistic resources of Europe’s largest mobile phone distributor to back them up.

“This reassurance gives our service a credibility advantage over other recyclers, and by continuing to bring our expertise and knowledge to the table we hope to continue making a significant contribution to this growing industry.”

20:20 Mobile also offers the recycling programme as a corporate take-back scheme, workplace programme for employees and surplus mobile phone stock recycling programme. 20:20 Mobile handles all website customer service and communication, collection and payment.

All recycling solutions are integrated into 20:20 Mobile’s back-end system with the full mobile phone recycling process undertaken in an Authorised WEEE Treatment Facility operated by 20:20 Mobile.

The mobile phone recycling solutions have been developed following the launch of 20:20 Mobile’s own handset recycling service Phonerecyclebank.com. As part of its responsible recycling practice Phonerecyclebank.com is using CheckMEND to prevent the sale of lost and stolen items. By searching the world's largest database of stolen and counterfeit goods and disabled mobile phones - over 40 billion serial numbered items of property, CheckMEND automatically flags any phones that have been reported lost, stolen or blocked by a network operator.

CheckMEND is run at several stages throughout the recycling process to ensure that phones can still be identified even if they are reported after they have been sent for recycling. Phonerecyclebank.com then works closely with the Police in order to help them try to restore the phones to their rightful owners.
