As part of the deal, 20:20 has built and will host Talkmobile’s website, providing an end to end service for all handsets and SIMs sold through the site. To complement this, the Crewe-based distributor will provide 3rd party distribution of Talkmobile SIMs into the UK market.
The MVNO will cover 99% of the UK population, with two types of pay as you go products: Talkmobile Prepay, offering low cost UK calls and text rates; and World, offering international calls from 4p per minute.
Talkmobile head of sales, Jason Rigby, commented: “Talkmobile has found great traction in the market since the launch in April, with customers seeking genuine value. We are delighted to bring 20:20 on board as the first supplier to distribute the Talkmobile brand into the UK marketplace.”
In addition, Talkmobile is offering a new product called ‘Control,’ which combines the benefits of both Contract and Pay As You Go options for customers who want the advantages of a contract but not an unexpected bill at the end of the month.
Control works by charging customers a low-cost fixed monthly fee. For this, they get a free or discounted phone (or can choose a SIM only option), and a monthly bundle of minutes and texts. If customers want to spend more, they simply top-up as you would with Pay As You Go.
The contract has just gone live.
