4 marathons in 24 hours for Xperta MD!

Christopher Brisley, Managing Director at IT support company Xperta Limited who after various set backs including taking nearly 3 years to recover from an accident that required spine surgery, has fund raised for charity by completing more than 15 physical challenges including three marathons, two olympic triathlons, two ultra marathons and climbed Mount Elbrus the highest mountain on the Russian and European continents, all within the last 18 months.

During these endeavours he has managed to get rescued off two mountains, broken his hand, toes and fractured his foot, none of which has stopped him in his dogged pursuits. And we forgot to mention he does this, including the planning, preparation and training in his spare time. During the day he runs his own business “Xperta”... clearly the man is a machine that doesnt need sleep or has a screw loose! The latest challenge certainly isnt going to disprove our theories.

To launch his latest fund raising appeal and The Take a Challenge project. He will attempt to run from the North Coast of Devon to the South Coast of Devon, and because he thinks he needs to be back at work on Monday... he’ll do it within 24 hours! Thats 101miles, across Dartmoor, over 5,000 feet of hill climbing all within 24 hours. Must be impossible?

Chris says “Nothing is impossible, there’s always a way”

The run will start at 12:00 on Saturday 10th April from Ilfracombe Promenade and finish 24 hours later at 12:00 on Sunday 11th April on Plymouth Hoe. The route is split into two day light public stages from Ilfracombe to Great Torrington (1 to 40 miles) and Gidleigh on Dartmoor to Plymouth (65 to 101miles).

Chris says “There is a clear need to provide inspiration and hope to many people and to regain a sense of Britishness, togetherness and self respect, irrespective of background”.“ Service personnel returning from war, have demonstrated that no matter what they have been subjected to, what limbs they have lost, they still have the drive and ambition to inspire, we can all learn from them”.
