4Com Channel Partners Appoints National Distribution Sales Manager

4Com Channel Partners has appointed John Sargood as their new National Distribution Sales Manager.

The news comes shortly after the group announced their channel only strategy. 4Com says it hasn’t sold to end users under their own brand since 2010 as they are now concentrating on the distribution of telephone equipment and the development of hardware and software. They have become the only distributor in the UK to offer a combination of hardware, leasing, network services, recruitment and sales training to channel partners.

Sargood, who has been in the industry for over 20 years, will be responsible for managing 4Com’s existing partnerships and developing new relationships with resellers. Prior to this, Sargood held positions within several companies in the industry including Datasharp, East Central and Daisy Telecoms Ltd. Sargood says: “I am very excited at the prospect of working with 4Com because although the brand is very well known, the role still raises its own challenges. 4com has been very successful as a reseller and therefore I believe resellers still see us as competition and that’s not the case. As we are now channel only we want to develop new relationships and we pride ourselves on helping our partners to increase their volume of sales and their margins.”

Now an authorised distributor of both Toshiba and Samsung products, 4Com is also the only distributor to offer exclusive manufacturer branded universal leasing documents. They are designed to improve leasing figures for resellers by allowing them to use a universal document that is accepted by virtually all the main primary funders.

Sargood says 4Com’s offering is completely unique: “There are other distributors out there that have a catalogue of thousands of products and strive for next day delivery. 4Com offers a tighter catalogue of products but pride ourselves on adding value to the resellers business through offering our comprehensive support. We have an invested interest in helping the reseller to build their brand and increase their sales. We work with each partner closely to determine their needs and tailor make their package. The comprehensive training and recruitment that 4Com offer is designed to improve sales techniques and product knowledge.
