A growing acquisition team leads to promotion

Mark Russell has been an integral part of the new business team at theWord for over seven years and during this time has progressed from business development manager to senior business developer and has recently been promoted again to regional business development manager.

theWord is a Unified Communications provider and Russell’s new role sees him undertaking a more strategic position as he moves into the management team.

Russell will now be responsible for the Welsh division of the mobile acquisition team, where his experience and enthusiasm will be vital as the team grows. During his time at theWord he has been responsible for setting up partnerships with high profile accounts such the Royal Mint, Admiral Group Plc and the Royal College of Nursing.

Speaking of his promotion Russell said: “I am very pleased to be moving forward into this new role with theWord, I look forward to working with the rest of the management team and to growing the acquisition team in line with the company objectives. I am excited about coaching the new team as I feel that they have a pivotal role to play in strengthening what has historically been our core product and territory and helping the extended team to drive forward into new areas.”

Managing director of theWord, Huw Stiley, said: “This promotion is recognition of both the contribution that Mark has made to theWord over the last seven years but also the skills and experience that we feel he can bring to a management role and the valuable coaching that he will be able to offer newer members of the team.”

“It is vital to our business model that we capitalise on the skills and experience that our key team members have built up to ensure that we are offering potential customers the best possible service and experience. The reason for Mark’s success over the years is in no doubt partly due to his ability to really understand a business’s needs and to create bespoke mobile packages. This is a quality that he will aim to nurture within his team.”
