Aastra Goes for VoiceFlex SIP Trunks

Voice and data solutions provider Aastra Telecom has today introduced VoiceFlex SIP Trunks from Frontier Systems, to support a cost-effective VoIP solution for businesses. Incorporating the service within its Ascotel PBX system, Aastra say they are now able to provide a competitive alternative to ISDN lines.

The company says with businesses now demanding low cost calls and increased flexibility in a phone system, SIP trunking is able to meet these needs and more. VoiceFlex’s SIP-based IP trunking uses voice over broadband to lower the cost of line rental and offer free calls to other SIP trunk users. Phone numbers can also be ported to any IP address meaning numbers can be assigned and retained regardless of office location.

Mike Ballentine, business development manager at Aastra Telecom commented: “Through supporting this service we have established ourselves as front runners in a fast emerging market and are well placed to meet the demands of our customers now and in the future. Throughout the testing period, the VoiceFlex team was extremely responsive and demonstrated a feature-rich product which will enable us to add real value to our existing product set.”

Commenting on the deal, Paul Taylor, sales and marketing director at Frontier Systems said: “SIP connectivity can provide a 60 per cent saving on line rental costs making it very attractive for businesses thinking about switching to VoIP. Combining our service with the Ascotel system, we are able to provide a compelling proposition and remain one step ahead of the competition.”

VoiceFlex SIP Trunks is one of three products available from Aastra Telecom which offers SIP trunking capabilities over a PBX network.
