Aastra Strengthens Channel Relations

Aastra has appointed Lisa Richardson as Channel Marketing Manager for UK & Ireland to help bolster channel market relationships. The announcement follows other recent appointments by the enterprise communications company that are intended to support Aastra’s rapid expansion in the UK IP telephony market.

Lisa Richardson has enjoyed an impressive career in the ICT sector, delivering innovative marketing campaigns, developing closer relationships with clients and vendors, and increasing sales and marketing revenues. Prior to joining Aastra, Lisa was a Marketing Manager at IT Professional Services with responsibility for the management and development of all marketing activities and events. Before this, she was Marketing and Business Development Manager for an engineering & design company.

Lisa said: “It’s a really interesting time for me to join Aastra as the company expands into new markets in Europe and beyond. As we continue to build on our credibility as an industry leader and an organisation that has a reputation for being easy to do business with, I will be focusing on strengthening our relationships in the channel. By supporting our partners, I believe that Aastra is positioned perfectly to deliver upon our next phase of growth.”

Paul Johnson, Sales Director UK & Ireland, said: “The UK & Ireland is a very dynamic market and there are considerable opportunities as increasing numbers of resellers look to take advantage of converged technologies. For many years Aastra has driven developments in integrated mobility and unified communications, based on open standards. By strengthening our channel relations we are now looking to capitalise on this.”

Aastra recently held an event to present more than 80 of its channel partners with the latest organisational changes within the Aastra since its acquisition of the Ericsson Enterprise Business in May 2008. Michael Calvert, General Manager of Aastra UK, spoke of the company’s recent successful channel recruitment campaign and the addition of technical and training resources to support the resellers. Presentations were also given by Séverine Anciaux, Head of Applications Development on the latest advances in Aastra’s unified communications and collaboration tools, Hugh Scholaert, Regional Group President, and Paul Johnson, Sales Director.
