The 51i also incorporates productivity enhancing features that can be found on all of Aastra’s existing SIP telephones including; enhanced call management, XML browser and an industry leading simplified deployment and upgrade design. Continuing a commitment to interoperability and as other handsets of the 5i Series, the 51i has been designed to integrate with leading VoIP call server platforms, including Aastra’s own systems, making it appeal to a wide range of SMB and Enterprise customers.
The Aastra 51i is equipped with advanced XML capability allowing access to customized services and applications. With an internet access, this feature can provide, for example, a direct access to news RSS feed from the telephone display. The XML browser can also offer unlimited potential to create custom menus or specific actions for conference manager, directory and even vertical applications.
