Acision appoints new Executive Chairman

Didier Bench joins Acision’s Board of Investors as Executive Chairman to strengthen global market position and drive new business model in enterprise messaging.

Acision, provider of mobile messaging, today announced that Didier Bench has been appointed as Executive Chairman by the company’s Board of Investors. Bringing years of digital media and commercial business development expertise to Acision, Bench will work with Chief Executive, Jorgen Nilsson, to guide the evolution and direction of the company as it puts increased emphasis on its new enterprise messaging business model.

Bench and Nilsson will build on Acision’s long and successful messaging history to ensure it bridges the digital media and mobile divide and executes its strategy, to effectively leverage existing and new market opportunities by enhancing its position in LTE messaging while securing a strong, relevant role in enterprise messaging.

Jorgen Nilsson, Chief Executive at Acision, said: “Didier has demonstrated an ability to take leading roles in building and developing technology businesses and has had a wealth of experience at the helm of a number of leading digital media companies. To have him join Acision will bring enormous value as we develop our strengths in LTE messaging, invest in our global customer footprint and drive our next phase of growth in new areas such as enterprise messaging.”

Bench joins Acision having most recently worked at Silver Lake, the largest private investment firm in digital media and technology. Bench was a Senior Advisor focused on the firm’s middle market strategy. Prior to joining Silver Lake, Bench had more than twenty-five years of global leadership in the development of international technology companies and investment funds across worldwide markets. Bench has held senior management positions with several software companies, successfully turning them into major players, including roles as Chairman and CEO of Cartesis and iMediation and Vice President and General Manager of Netscape EMEA.

Bench succeeds Larry Quinn, who is stepping down after completing his five year term as Acision’s Non-executive Chairman. Larry Quinn added: “I am delighted to welcome Didier to Acision at this important juncture.
