Adtran Simplifies Hosted VoIP Applications for SMBs

Adtran, a supplier of Multiservice Access Gateways, has announced an all-in-one platform designed to simplify Hosted VoIP, Internet access, and business connectivity services for SMBs and distributed enterprises.

The NetVanta 1355 delivers converged IP access by combining SIP gateway functionality with advanced routing, Power over Ethernet (PoE) switching, security, Layer 3 Quality of Service (QoS) and survivability features in a single platform. This solution allows carriers to deliver next-generation services and expand their service footprint by providing a unique service offering to address the fast-growing VoIP market.

“Hosted services continue to grow on a global scale, with the largest growth segment being SMBs,” said David Lemelin, In-Stat analyst. “Adtran’s integrated approach to Hosted VoIP gives carriers a compelling solution to penetrate the worldwide SMB market.” It provides end-to-end circuit control for guaranteeing QoS and service availability from the network to the desktop IP phones by including a managed switch in the CPE device. “This solution allows SMBs to reap the benefits of VoIP without significant capital outlay or the expense of in-house technical expertise,” stated Lemelin.

“Our carrier customers have requested a solution that will allow them to economically accelerate the delivery of Hosted VoIP services to the SMB market without sacrificing reliability, scalability, or functionality,” said Tim Saunders, vice president of product management, Adtran Enterprise Networks Division. “Our NetVanta 1355 replaces multiple standalone devices to simplify network installation and management. This flexible platform allows carriers to provide competitive, revenue-generating services to retain and attract new customers, while eliminating truck rolls, and lowering overall operational expenses.”
