Alan Reeve is New Managing Director for Aastra

Aastra has appointed Alan Reeve to spearhead their operations and growth in the UK & Ireland

Alan Reeve has over fifteen years career experience in the business telecoms market, having held senior management positions with Nortel, ShoreTel and Panasonic in the UK and the EMEA region.

In his new role Alan will seek to broaden channels to market for Aastra (UK & Ireland), both in terms of geographic coverage and partnering with solution integrators.

Reeve says of his new role, “Aastra has become a leading player in Europe and at a global level. Aastra offers a unique combination of key strengths: strong financial fundamentals to be a long-term partner for customers and channels, competitively priced solutions in an environment where companies’ budgets are still under pressure and one of the most complete portfolios of unified communications solutions.”

“I have strong ambitions for Aastra. We have a great opportunity to increase our presence in the UK market and broaden our route to market by partnering with system integrators, particularly in the Microsoft developer community. I look forward to working with the Aastra team, our partners and customers to realise the company’s full potential.”

Reeve has told Comms Business Magazine that Aastra has a strategy of making the right products available for each of the markets in which it operates.

“In the UK we have four main products groups. The IntelliGate communications platform, which addresses primarily the 30-180 user market, is going very well. We will be introducing a new IntelliGate 400 model which will be a pure IP based system in a 19 inch rack format.”

The other product groups include the Enterprise class MX-One, Solidus – a multi-media E-Care system for contact centres and their terminals business.

Reeve added, “Aastra is one of only two vendors selected by Microsoft to provide OCS specific terminals. These will be launching shortly and we will be actively recruiting channels to sell these in to OCS applications.”

With regards to the MX-One product Reeve is keen to point out that Aastra has large base (MD100) to protect and that he will be looking to upgrade that base to the latest, Release 4, MX-One product as well as win new sites for the product.

“We will also be looking to recruit new partners for the MX-One. I am also actively looking for new offices in the Heathrow area to locate Aastra UK under one roof. These office will accommodate staff currently located at our UK head office in Farnborough and our those at our training centre in Hazelmere.”
