Alcatel appoints UK channel manager to maintain aggressive growth drive

Alcatel has appointed Keith Rapp as UK channel manager for its EnterpriseSolutions Division (ESD). Rapp will be responsible for maintaining anddeveloping Alcatel's relationships with its direct tier one and tier two business partners in the UK channel, as the company builds on the success of itssecond quarter results for 2005.

Rapp assumes his new role with 20 years experience in the telecoms industry, having first joined Alcatel in 1992 as a regional sales manager. Prior to hisappointment as UK channel manager, Rapp was distribution channel manager at

Alcatel, where in four years he helped Alcatel's distribution channel to grow by 900%. Rapp also spent three years working as a channel manager for National Telecom, before his move to Alcatel.

"As more companies advance towards full adoption of IP and applications, it's vital that Alcatel and its partners are well-positioned to take advantage of themarket opportunities," said Rapp. "Alcatel has already benefited from consistently high distribution growth during my time supporting the UK channel and I'm eagerly anticipating the challenge of pushing forward our channel strategy and edging out the competition."
