Alcatel-Lucent opens up End-User Dialogue

Alcatel-Lucent has announced the creation of a new UK user group, made up of enterprise-sized customers to open up greater dialogue with end-users and help identify current and future market needs.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Solutions User Group (ALESUG) will serve as a communication channel between Alcatel-Lucent and end users regarding current and forthcoming product releases, as well as technical challenges and planned implementations. This will allow users to better communicate their individual business needs to Alcatel-Lucent, as well as acting as a forum for members to discuss their use of Alcatel-Lucent solutions.

The user group will hold regular meetings drawing on the expertise of Alcatel-Lucent, its business partners and independent consultants. In addition, the group is already looking to expand by recruiting more corporate UK customers, with the help of a number of resellers.

"User input is critical to creating and delivering innovative technologies that serve the next generation workplace, and then enabling those users to competitively transform that business to focus on generating new business and providing superior customer service," said Peter Tebbutt, enterprise regional support centre director, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Business Group UK&I. "The Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Solutions User Group will allow us to constructively draw on end-users' experiences and suggestions, so that our technologies can better serve them going forward."

"We are very enthusiastic about the group, as it is a great opportunity to empower end-users, and collectively get our views heard and applied by Alcatel-Lucent," said Jonathan Barstow, telecommunications manager, University of the West of England and co-chairman of ALESUG. "The expansion of the group will also be of great benefit, by providing a wider range of expertise from different organisations."

ALESUG also has future plans to expand internationally, bringing together existing European user-groups in dialogue.
