Alcatel-Lucent Unveils New Converged Architecture

Alcatel-Lucent has unveiled a new converged architecture for its next generation communications platforms at its Dynamic Enterprise event in Paris. The new architecture converges the capabilities of Alcatel-Lucent and Genesys into a ‘SIP-to-the-core’ platform approach for its enterprise applications, including unified communications, collaboration and customer service.

The company says enterprises benefit from an open, evolutionary migration to next generation SIP-based communication platforms that deliver multi-media conversations, including video, voice, SMS, to customers and employees across any device and drive cost reduction by consolidating all access points and devices across the enterprise.

Furthermore Alcatel-Lucent says the architecture empowers enterprises to choose any device – desktop and soft phones, mobile devices and purpose-built devices for industry-specific solutions and vertical use cases.

“Our commitment to open systems is stronger than ever,” said Paul Segre, president, applications, Alcatel-Lucent. “As enterprises start to realise the powerful benefits of communications-enabled applications, we are putting SIP at the core of our enterprise platform strategy to drive this innovation across the enterprise.”
