Alcatel One Touch mobile phones to launch on O2

Alcatel One Touch has unveiled its first handsets to launch on O2, the UK provider of mobile phones and broadband. The Alcatel One Touch 355 QWERTY and the One Touch 708 Touch handsets will be available in O2 stores nationwide and online.

A cute compact design with a full QWERTY keyboard and track pad, the OT-355 is great for any text addict. With access to e-mails, Facebook and Twitter, the phone also comes with a VGA camera, enabling the user to upload images direct to Facebook. The ALcatel OT-355 also includes an FM radio and MP3 player.

The OT-708 is one of Alcatel One Touch’s most successful touch screen handsets to date and so it is of no surprise that this will be one of the first handsets launched into O2 stores. With a full touch screen, 1.3 megapixel camera and expandable memory, it packs a lot of great features into a stylish design that’s only slightly longer than a credit card.

“We’re really happy to be selling Alcatel One Touch phones in our stores and online,” said David Johnson, O2 Head of Commercial and Product Management. “Their mix of affordability and great design is something that we think our customers will really value.”

William Paterson, UK and Ireland Country Director, Alcatel One Touch, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Alcatel One Touch and one which we are very excited about. O2 is the UK’s largest operator, meaning Alcatel One Touch devices will now be available in all major UK networks and retailers. This, coupled with Alcatel One Touch’s growth over the last twelve months, reaffirms the brand’s position within the mobile phone sector. ”
