Alcatel One Touch teams with Professor Green

Following the success of Alcatel One Touch’s first music collaboration with Eliza Doolittle in 2010, Alcatel One Touch has embarked on a two month project with EMI Music artist Professor Green to launch the Alcatel One Touch 802 qwerty exclusively with Phones 4u.

The collaboration, which was developed by Alcatel One Touch and EMI Music’s Brand Partnerships team, will be supported by a ‘text to win’ campaign for tickets to see Professor Green perform live, along with other Professor Green prizes. Professor Green will also perform a secret gig at Concrete in East London during the campaign, which will only be open to competition winners.

With over one million fans on Facebook alone, Professor Green was the perfect match for the mobile phone brand to launch the Alcatel One Touch 802 with its social media capabilities. Featuring both Facebook and Twitter applications, Professor Green can speak with his fans whilst on tour travelling the UK supporting NDubz. The handset also features an MP3 player, a micro SD slot with up to 8GB, to store and listen to music tracks.

“The Alcatel One Touch 802 is so easy to use and means I can stay in touch with friends and fans whilst on the road and touring. With one million fans on Facebook, I like to make sure they know what I’m up to!” says Professor Green.

William Paterson, UK and Ireland Country Director, comments “We were extremely pleased with the 2010 Eliza Doolittle campaign, working with both Phones 4u and EMI that we are very excited to be embarking on this campaign with Professor Green. Our 2011 product portfolio has a wide range of social networking handsets and as Professor Green is one of the leading artists in the UK on social media, with one in one hundred people in the UK following him on Facebook, this was a natural fit for us.”

Bob Workman, Senior Director Brand Partnerships EMI Music, comments “We are excited about the prospect of working with Alcatel One Touch again on this new collaboration. This is a great opportunity for Professor Green’s fans to enjoy his music through their phone and win some unique prizes, and the tie-up with Phones 4u brings a powerful channel to reach consumers through their extensive high street network. Last year’s partnership between Eliza Doolittle and Alcatel One Touch was a great success for everyone involved, and we looking forward to a mutually beneficial partnership between Alcatel One Touch and Professor Green.

The Alcatel One Touch 802 mobile phone will be available exclusively from Phones 4u stores and online at www.phones4u.co.uk from £29.95 on Pay As You Go.
