Andy Jones appointed to drive DaaS at Exertis

Exertis has announced the appointment of Andy Jones as Business Development Manager (BDM) for its Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) proposition, reporting to Rik Hubbard, Exertis, commercial and services director for mobile.

“DaaS is becoming an increasingly interesting option for companies by reducing the complexity and costs of device procurement and deployment. Mobile phones, tablets and laptops have a residual value and our DaaS offering ensures that companies maximise their assets. Resellers can offer their customers the opportunity to take out a residual value lease which is a unique development for the industry, rather than repaying the cash price and the interest,” said Hubbard. “Andy joins at a time when we have a tested DaaS option which is easy for our resellers to administer and has significant benefits for their customers. He will be responsible for evangelising our proposition and ensuring that our resellers can take advantage of a market which is set to grow at a significant rate.”

Sister publication Technology Business Today spoke to UK MD Paul Bryan recently about their DaaS proposition.

The reseller’s customer can also choose to add any number of managed services to the lease, providing a complete, solutions bundle that can incorporate repair, refreshment and asset tagging as well as the procurement of the devices. The lease agreement is made between the leasing company and the end customer. Provided that the credit check is satisfactory, the reseller gets paid in full by the company immediately, improving their cash flow. In addition, the credit risk sits with the bank.

Companies moving to the Exertis DaaS model can avoid large capital investments, enjoy more predictable costs, reduce the burden of maintenance and management from their IT department, increase security whilst providing their employees with the latest technology.

“I am delighted to have joined Exertis to drive and champion our new DaaS proposition. We have established some vital partnerships with vendors which allow us to bring some unique deals to the channel, alongside that, we are adding some new innovations to our proposition to truly deliver something unique in the channel,” said Jones.

Jones joins from Tech Data where he spent more than three years in a Business Development role.
