Another Chess Acquisition

Consolidator within the UK telecoms market, Chess Telecom has announced yet another acquisition, bringing the total to 45 acquisitions in the past six years.

The latest acquisition of NPC Telecom allows the vendors to capitalise on their assets, knowing their customers will be well looked after.

Phil Murphy, Director of NPC Telecom commented, “When our two major dealers asked me to source an exit from the telecoms business I was filled with dread. I envisaged months of searching for a potential new owner for their customer bases, followed by more months of negotiation to conclude a business transfer. I was proved wrong immediately, within a week there were three potential suitors and after initial meetings there emerged only one serious player, Chess Telecom.”

“Within two weeks Chess had made a formal offer which my dealers found fair, equitable and suitable. Within weeks the Chess team had migrated the databases to their platform and concluded the whole transfer.”

“If I had to perform another exit strategy I wouldn’t hesitate to go directly To Chess, where I’m confident I would get a quick decision, a fair settlement and a truly efficient transfer performed by people who really know the telecoms business and migrations.”

Richard Btesh, Chess Director added “Our acquisition success is the result of a combination of skilled integration and customer retention. Importantly, the flexibility to tailor deals to fit in with the sellers’ requirements gives us a leading edge. Continued market consolidation means our list is always growing and our flexibility and reputation enables us to approach increasingly significant targets. 2010 continues to be an exciting and challenging year for all of us at Chess.”
