ATS adds WiFi to keep customers online while they wait

WiFi provider The Cloud today announces it has signed a deal with ATS Euromaster, the nationwide tyre retailer, to install free customer WiFi at all of its garages across the UK to enhance customer experience while their vehicles are being serviced.

The roll out of the WiFi, which begins in September this year, will mean customers can access the internet via a fast and reliable connection, letting them surf the web or catch up on emails while their car is getting fitted with new tyres and other car related products. ATS, which is the first national tyre outlet business to offer free WiFi to customers, receives tens of thousands of visits per month through its centres so sees WiFi as a beneficial way of enhancing customer satisfaction.

Over 50% of UK adults now own a WiFi-enabled smartphone, according to recent consumer data*, which means that WiFi is an excellent tool for keeping customers engaged during periods of dwell time.

Huw Williams, Group Marketing Director, at ATS Euromaster said: “We want to make sure our customers receive a first-class service from ATS and we think providing WiFi is a really important part of that. Many of our customers visit us during working hours so the WiFi means that they can keep up to date on emails while visiting our garages and taking time away from the office.”

Vince Russell, Managing Director of The Cloud, said: “ATS Euromaster is yet another great example of providing fast reliable WiFi access in places where customers really value it. All our research and experience shows that WiFi is used most during periods of ‘down time dwell time’, when people have a few minutes to kill while they wait for something and want to stay in touch with their work or what’s going on online. This is why over 5 million customers are now registered with The Cloud enjoying over 100 million minutes of access every week. That’s how we expect it to be used by ATS customers and we are sure it will be a significant enhancement to the service and experience they receive.”

The agreement with ATS Euromaster follows The Cloud's recent deals with pub chain Greene King, RUSH hairdressers and Network Rail. In total, The Cloud has over 11,000 hotspots in high street venues, transport hubs, pub and bars across the UK.
