AudioCodes Extends its Mediant Line of Enhanced Gateways

AudioCodes, a provider of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, has announced it has expanded its line of products qualified in Microsoft’s UC Open Interoperability Program for Microsoft Lync 2010. With the new product announcements, AudioCodes is providing Enhanced Gateways and Survivable Branch Appliances (SBAs) for any size of branch office or business, ranging from small enterprise branches to very large enterprise locations.

“We have been working very closely with AudioCodes for several years,” said Kevin Carswell, Chairman and CEO of The Via Group. “The addition of their high availability Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway for large enterprise headquarters and regional offices and the Mediant 800 Enhanced Gateway and SBA for survivable branch solutions for small locations to their Mediant 1000 and 2000 Enhanced Gateways and SBAs enables The Via Group to offer our customers the most comprehensive scaling and reliability options available on the market today from AudioCodes”.

“Ever since we started our Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program, we’ve been working with AudioCodes,” said Kapil Sharma, principal group program manager, Lync Partner Engineering Team, Microsoft Corp. “Mediant 800 SBA, announced by AudioCodes today, will help our distributed enterprise customers provide cost-effective survivable branch solutions for their small locations. The Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway will support large enterprise customers that need highly available media gateways, supporting thousands of simultaneous, high-quality calls between Lync clients and the Public Switched Telephone Network.”

The AudioCodes Mediant 800 SBA is based on the AudioCodes Mediant 800 Multi-Service Business Gateway with an integrated Dual Core, High Performance Intel-based Server, FXS, FXO, BRI and E1/T1 PSTN interface options, PoE switch, router and multiple WAN access options.

The Mediant 3000 Enhanced Gateway is a highly available, high density Media Gateway for large enterprise locations, with up to 2000 PSTN channels using E1/T1, T3 or STM-1/OC-3 connections, and integrated Enterprise Session Border Controller.

“We are very pleased to once more extend our offerings to the expanding community of Microsoft Lync customers and partners,” stated Nimrod Borovsky, Vice President of Marketing at AudioCodes. “Our large community of VSPs has been working with us as a single stop shop, and now can increase their ability to work with us even further.

The new Mediant 800 SBA and the Mediant 3000 are joining our market-proven Mediant 1000, Mediant 2000 and other gateways and SBAs that support Lync and are installed within Fortune 100 enterprises and service providers. We are confident that, with our expanded solution offerings, we will see a growing number of customers adopting Microsoft Lync and joining the group of companies that enjoy additional ways of collaborating.”
