Avaya and BT Expand Global Relationship

Avaya has expanded and extended its global relationship with BT for a further three years. The agreement will ensure customers worldwide, regardless of size, have access to BT’s global networked IT and world-class professional services portfolio, complemented with the Avaya product suite to address their communications needs.

The contract will take the BT and Avaya relationship, built originally on contact centre equipment and services, into a second successful decade and will develop areas such as voice and unified communications collaboration. As part of the relationship, BT will provide integration and consultancy services designed to maximise the Avaya product suite, and Avaya and BT will jointly market and sell their value proposition to businesses around the world.

“This expanded relationship with BT demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the best available experience, and maximum choice, for our Avaya customers,” said Mark Mitchell, head of service providers, Avaya Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “We’re looking forward to another successful decade working together with BT.”

The new agreement between the two companies covers next generation contact centres, unified communications and services, and complements BT’s leading portfolio of networked IT services, ranging from CPE-based solutions to those hosted in the cloud.

Customers, including Acas, have already seen significant benefits from the BT and Avaya collaboration. Andrew Godber, director of IT, Acas, said: "Our experience is that the partnership between BT and Avaya offers considerable benefits around excellent customer service and end to end service provision. We look forward to receiving the same level of service in future."

“Our customers are asking us to look at real business issues and develop solutions that deliver not just definable benefits, but solid returns on investment. Our ongoing relationship with Avaya helps us to further grow and innovate our portfolio of networked IT services, giving us the ability to deliver solutions to our customers on the vendor platforms most suited to their business,” said Neil Sutton, vice president, Global Portfolio, BT Global Services.
