Avaya Beefs EMEA Sales with Heavyweight Appointment

Avaya has confirmed the appointment of Patricia Hume as Vice President Channel Sales EMEA. Hume’s appointment was effective the first of November 2006. She will be based in Guildford, England and will be responsible for the strengthening of the channel partnerships of the company in EMEA. Hume has been with Avaya since 2004 and holds the role as global group vice president of Small and Medium Business Solutions, Avaya and will keep this position alongside her new tasks.

Channel reaction has been swift with MTV Telecom Chairman Martin Hatcher commenting;

Prior to joining Avaya Pat Hume was the Senior Vice President of Channel Sales and General Manager of the Asia/Pacific market for Critical Path Inc., a software company dedicated to the development of messaging solutions for the telecommunications industry. Pat also held the position of President and CEO of VerticalNet Inc. Before joining VerticalNet, Pat spent 20 years at IBM. During her career with IBM, she held numerous management and senior management positions in the areas of finance, development, marketing and sales. All in all the new Vice President of Small and Medium Business Solutions disposes of 29 years experience in the high tech and telecommunications industries.
