Avaya Claims Enterprise Voice Market Leadership from Alcatel-Lucent in Western Europe

Synergy Research Group and Current Analysis have reported Avaya’s ascendancy to the #1 position in market share for Enterprise Voice Equipment in Western Europe, displacing Alcatel-Lucent for the first time. The findings were reported in the Synergy Q3 2007 Enterprise Voice Equipment Market Share reports for the U.S. and Western Europe regions.

"We are thrilled at these results, which we believe are a strong indicator of both our industry-leading technology offerings as well as our emphasis on creating solutions that help our customers manage their communications,” said Carlos Sartorius, president, Avaya EMEA. “We have a continuing focus on customer delight and intend to progress that business focus for companies of all sizes across the EMEA region.”

"Despite soft GDP growth in both the U.S. and Western Europe, we witnessed a strong sales uptick for enterprise voice equipment in both regions," said Ryan Olsen, Senior Analyst at Synergy Research Group. "Other than major leadership shifts, we also noted a robust SMB market."

Making up the top six vendors in Western Europe were Cisco, Siemsn, Nortel and Mitel.
