Avaya hits Europe with SME cloud offering

Cloud
Avaya has launched its cloud offering outside of the US for the first time, bringing its "pure cloud" solution to the European markets, starting with Germany. Avaya has taken its Zang product, their previous cloud offering, and integrated it into business infrastructure making it an easy resell solution.

Roberto Schmidl, EMEA VP of Cloud at Avaya said this is Avaya’s bid to gain market share from the incumbent network carriers in the SMB market.

Schmidl, commented “It’s a web based, multi-tenant pure cloud solution that we are offering for the low end market in Germany. Businesses can go online and order their cloud UC solution from us using the standard Avaya products and solutions but in a very easy, self-service, manner.”

The roll out to the rest of Europe will follow, on the timescales for the UK market Ioan MacRae, UK&I MD of Avaya, told Comms Business, “Roberto is launching a new SME UCaaS platform which is now live, that really is for the sub 50 to sub 100 market. That’s an area I certainly want to focus on and improve on in the UK. I’m working closely with the German team on a plan to take that technology and introduce it into the UK and Ireland. We’ll launch that in the next quarter or so. That gives us a complete cloud coverage from the single user to the highest high enterprise with UC and CC capability.”
