Avaya Launch New BPP

MTV Telecom say they are fully behind the new Avaya Business Partner Program (BPP) accreditation program that comes into effect on the 1st April as it will ensure that only resellers that have registered for the scheme will be able to purchase from distributors.

Commercial Director Jim Robertson told Comms Business Magazine, “This ensures that those installing and selling IP Office will have attained or are at least working towards gaining the skills to be able to support the product.”

He continued, “MTV Telecom is fully committed to keeping resellers up to date as to their current accreditation status. We have even developed our own software package that allows us to easily update our reseller training records as well giving us the right information to be proactive in ensuring that resellers do not miss out in developing their business. We have many Business Partner Program events arranged that will give resellers all the necessary information required to progress their Avaya BPP status and a team of account managers that have received full training on the workings of the Avaya BPP. As part of their role they will be to advise resellers on how best to further there accreditation.

MTV Telecom recognise the need that resellers have to be able to market themselves and the Avaya IP Office professionally and by helping a reseller to Silver level accreditation within the scheme they would find themselves in a position to be able to take advantage of marketing funds direct from Avaya and take advantage of demonstration and house systems on favourable terms.”

The new Avaya BPP has been introduced following feedback from the reseller channel with Avaya responding to the need to amend their current program to protect the reseller that has invested in gaining sales and technical expertise.

MTV say the implications are dire for the reseller who believes that they need not bother with the scheme as distributors will only sell to registered Avaya resellers.

Robertson concludes, “We have all seen accreditation programs from vendors that seem to lose their way, however we do believe that the planned changes will benefit the whole channel and the IP Office as a product.”
