Avaya has requested the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declare Avaya’s Registration Statement on Form 10 effective on January 16, 2018. Following the filing, Avaya’s common stock will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “AVYA” and is expected to begin trading at the market open on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
This marks Avaya’s official return to the communications market after exiting Chapter 11 at the end of last year. The newly structured company is looking to continue their transformation to a software based business and to invest in their R&D to further their dominance in markets like the contact centre space and to break into new areas.
“Our listing on the NYSE is an important milestone in Avaya’s next chapter as a public company,” said Jim Chirico , President and Chief Executive Officer. “We’re proud to join the other industry leading companies listed on the NYSE . This will provide increased transparency to our various stakeholders with a goal of creating long-term value for our new stockholders.”
Tom Farley , President of NYSE commented, “We are pleased that Avaya has chosen to list on the NYSE , and we look forward to providing the company and its shareholders with the highest levels of service and market quality.”
In celebration of the listing, representatives from Avaya will ring the NYSE Opening Bell at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time on January 17, 2018. Comms Business will be reporting directly from the New York Stock Exchange next week so stay tuned for further updates.
