Avnet Services has today announced it has become an official Veeam Authorized Education Centre (VMAEC). Through this collaboration with Veeam Software Avnet will roll out a VMAEC training program across the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy and Spain from January 2014. This enables reseller partners and end users to become proficient in Veeam solutions, which is of particular importance for achieving growth in the virtualization market.

The VMAEC program is designed to deliver the technical courses required for partners, customers and resellers to achieve the Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) certification. The VMCE course is a technical deep-dive, with intensive hands-on exercises, to provide IT professionals with extensive knowledge of Veeam solutions covering areas including configuration, features, functionality and deployment. The VMCE certification not only provides recognition of an individual’s expertise in virtualization, backup, recovery and replication solutions from Veeam, but allows IT professionals to increase productivity and reduce the overall cost of IT infrastructure.

René Albert, director of education solutions for Avnet Services, EMEA, commented, “This partnership with Veeam Software, a leading provider of backup, replication and virtualization management solutions, extends our education portfolio at a time when the virtualization market is growing at a significant rate. This allows our reseller partners across EMEA to gather the right knowledge to successfully seek opportunities and engage in this important IT growth market.”

Daniel Fried, managing director, EMEA, at Veeam said, “We are delighted to announce the extended partnership between us and Avnet and to have Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA, among Veeam Authorized Education Centers (VMAEC). We believe that these new Veeam training and certification programs will create a more empowered and enabled channel and end-user ecosystem to leverage growing demand for Modern Data Protection – built for Virtualization.”
