Avnet has been authorised to distribute Lenovo’s System x (x86) servers and related solutions, including BladeCenter and Flex Systems, in the UK. This follows the October 1, 2014, transition of IBM’s System x server business to Lenovo.
In partnership with Lenovo Avnet will distribute the company’s System x, BladeCenter and Flex System blade servers and switches, x86-based Flex integrated systems, NeXtScale and iDataPlex servers and associated software, blade networking and maintenance operations.
To help channel partners offer complete end-to-end solutions, Avnet will continue to provide a variety of traditional service offerings, such as logistics, sales, marketing, finance and technical services, strategically paired with business, IT, lifecycle and education services.
Miriam Murphy, senior vice president, North region, Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA, commented, “A continual dialogue with our partners during the transition from IBM to Lenovo ensured they experienced minimal disruption. Our System x teams remain unchanged and we continue to be committed to supporting customers as before. We’re looking forward to Avnet and Lenovo exploring new opportunities to work together, in particular in the converged infrastructure space.”
Channel partners interested in learning more about how Avnet can help them capitalise on opportunities with Lenovo should contact their local Avnet representative.
