AWS unveils Level 1 MSSP Competency offerings

Cloud
Amazon Web Services has announced the creation of AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency. This selection of managed security services provider offerings has been designed to operationalise security tools, skill sets, and processes, as well as leveraging supporting tools.

The AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency offerings are designed to protect and monitor essential AWS resources continuously through a fully managed service.

Writing on the AWS Partner Network blog, Ryan Orsi, MSSP practice team lead, AWS, said, “AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency Partners have worked closely with AWS security experts to develop offerings that operationalize security tools, skill sets, and processes leveraging supporting tools. This includes native AWS security services such as AWS Security Hub and Amazon GuardDuty, AWS solutions implementations, and third-party solutions from AWS Security Competency ISV Partners. These offerings are uniquely designed to protect and monitor essential AWS resources 24/7 delivered as a fully managed service.”

This service will also make it easier for customers to find validated MSSP Partners qualified to deliver Level 1 Managed Security Services. Launch partners of the AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency offering include Sophos, 5 Pillars, Accenture, Arctic Wolf and Capgemini.

Scott Barlow, vice president of global MSP and cloud alliances, Sophos, shared his thoughts on Sophos achieving Level 1 MSSP Competency status. He said, “It has never been more critical for organisations adopting cloud services to optimise their security posture, block advanced threats, and have expert resources available to monitor environments 24/7 to stay secure. We’re committed to helping organisations secure essential resources.”
