Azlan Security Drive

Azlan, the Enterprise division of Computer 2000, has announced the appointment of former Director of Security at Allasso, Niall McGrane, to the newly-created position of General Manager Security.

The appointment signals the start of a renewed drive by Azlan to further increase its presence in the security market and to bring all the traditional added-value benefits that Azlan delivers, combined with the considerable strengths of the Computer 2000’s logistics, to a wider spectrum of security solutions resellers.

Over the coming weeks, Azlan will make further key appointments in security-specific roles and is also planning to announce strategic expansion of its vendor portfolio, says Lee Perkins, Director of Azlan UK. “We already have a strong presence but we are now planning to grow our presence considerably. We see security as a major opportunity for Azlan and by appointing Niall to this newly-creates position we are demonstrating our commitment to the market and to delivering the services and support that security VARs expect. We’re delighted he has agreed to join us.”

Commenting on his appointment, McGrane says: “There is a massive opportunity in the security market for Azlan. The time is right for a mainstream networking distributor to come into this market with a real focus and commitment and by doing that Azlan can very quickly become a major force in this marketplace. It’s a great opportunity and one that I am thoroughly looking forward to.”

Azlan is already a leading player in the security market and has thriving business relationships with a number of major vendors including RSA Security, Juniper Networks, McAfee, SonicWALL and Enterasys. The company plans to add complementary product lines to its portfolio over the next few months and is also on the look-out for security specialists with business development experience in the channel.

He moves to Azlan from InTechnology, where he was Divisional Director of Security; InTechnology acquired specialist security distributor Allasso in 2003 but recently sold the business unit to Magirus.
