Bailey Teswaine Acquisition Extends Managed Services Proposition

ICT supplier Bailey Teswaine has announced the formal acquisition of s2s, a security focussed managed services provider and a holder of Cisco Gold partner status. The acquisition will bolster Bailey Teswaine’s managed services proposition with the addition of s2s’s data centre and network operations centre to its services portfolio.

By bringing in-house s2s’ expertise in security, unified communications, access control, mobility, identity management and IP networking, Bailey Teswaine will extend its offering to include end-to-end managed services of all networked infrastructure, including automated performance monitoring and management.

“This acquisition demonstrates our long-term commitment to managed services,” explains Tony Henderson, managing director, Bailey Teswaine. “We began looking at acquisition targets about a year ago and it became immediately clear that s2s would not only complement our existing portfolio, but also allow us to extend our current ICT managed services portfolio. This is an exciting time for us as a company and as a group - particularly since we are now able to offer customers everything they need for their premises, from building services and maintenance through to intelligent network infrastructures supporting intelligent building applications for energy and environmental management.”

“Our customers will benefit enormously from this acquisition,” explains Scott Nursten, managing director, s2s. “Given Bailey Teswaine’s strengths in core infrastructure management and structured cabling, the addition of s2s’ network operations centre will give Bailey Teswaine a formidable managed services proposition. Green IT and sustainable technologies are high on the business agenda and the acquisition will offer customers everything they need for a truly intelligent building infrastructure. Customers will also find it invaluable to have support available across the whole of the country thanks to Bailey Teswaine's UK network of offices."

The acquisition with also benefit Bailey Teswaine’s parent company, NG Bailey, the UK’s largest independent building services provider, in its ‘For Life in Buildings’ initiative. The ‘For Life in Buildings’ programme is geared towards delivering sustainable, ‘intelligent’ building services and technologies, including automated climate control and energy monitoring. The combination of NG Bailey’s ‘For Life in Buildings’ programme with Bailey Teswaine’s managed services capabilities will provide customers with the foundations for a managed, intelligent building infrastructure.

s2s was named one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies in The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 in 2007 and was also awarded the prestigious Cisco Security Partner of the Year in both 2005 and 2007.

The inclusion of Cisco Gold partner status within the company will drive a more strategic relationship with Cisco. It will also support Bailey Teswaine in achieving its strong growth objectives and diversifying the portfolio offered to existing and prospective customers.
