Delgado says he is looking forward to his role as a judge for the UK’s leading channel awards, “I started my career literally knocking on doors trying to sell PBX systems many years ago so I am familiar with the day to day challenges faced by resellers. Today these challenges have evolved and resellers now need to be so much more aware of their customers’ business processes. In my opinion, the solutions based sale of today is likely to won through effective partnerships between the user, the reseller, the vendor and in some cases the distributor.
My experience at Swan has taught me that innovative applications brought to market by a reseller that understands the need for differentiation will usually outsmart the competition and win the day. I see my role as a judge in the forthcoming Comms Business Magazine Awards as being one of identifying these innovative customer solutions and recognising their real value in the market.”
Delgado is joined on the judging panel for the 2008 awards by Carolyn Kimber, Chairman of the Communications Managers Association (CMA), Stephanie Watson from MZA, Keith Humphries from EuroLAN, and Matt Townend from VoIP analyst illume.
Bio Bart Delgado
Bart Delgado was founder and managing director of Swan Solutions. Following a successful career with BT plc and subsequently in independent PBX system sales Delgado formed Swan Solutions in 1996 with the intention of providing effective computer telephony products that would be simple to sell through reseller channels and easy to deploy and use. The result, Callview, was received with enthusiasm by channel players and their clients
Progressively throughout the remainder of the nineties Delgado steered Swan to greater success both in his domestic UK market as well as in mainland Europe. In the last eight years Delgado has added significant revenue streams from his US operation and now holds a significant share of the UK call centre computer telephony market in the 15 to 50-seat segment.
Swan Solutions was acquired by Inter-Tel Integrated Systems Inc. in December 2002 and subsequently by Mitel in August 2007. During that time Delgado continued at the helm of Swan and recently saw the 8000th Callview system deployed.
