BDUK Ripe for Resellers

The government’s Superfast Broadband and Superconnected Cities campaigns are creating a new wave of business demand for connectivity services that resellers should embrace, according to Cloud Telephones.

The distributor and aggregation partner for connectivity and VoIP services works with IT and comms resellers, helping them to identify potential customers and meet their needs – for broadband and connectivity as well as for VoIP and other hosted services and applications.

John Carter, Managing Director of Cloud Telephones, says the current climate is ideal for resellers. “The BDUK’s current Superfast Nation campaign is increasing awareness of high speed fibre and the Superconnected Cities scheme is giving businesses a strong incentive to upgrade. With rising uptake of hosted services making a fast web connection even more vital and a more positive economic outlook as well, it’s almost a perfect storm for our partners. More businesses want superfast connections and that is also creating more opportunities not only to sell the connections themselves, but also to offer VoIP services and hosted applications.”

Carter continued, “Getting faster connectivity will be on the many businesses list of New Year’s resolutions. We expect to see the momentum that started to build in 2014 continuing and growing throughout the coming year. Businesses are going to change the way they consume and buy IT and this is a big opportunity for resellers to get in right at the start. If they own the connection, they own the customer.”

Cloud Telephones already collaborates with a number of partners across the UK, but is keen to recruit more. Resellers are listed on its website and benefit directly from the company’s extensive marketing activity. Cloud Telephones runs a continuous rolling lead generation programme, qualifying all new business leads before passing them onto its registered partners.

Superfast broadband is currently available to 78 percent of premises in the UK and that figure is set to increase to 90 percent by 2016 and 95 percent by 2017.

There are presently 22 Superconnected Cities in the UK and further government funding was announced last month that will extend the current programme scheme, which is due to end on 31 March 2015, for a further year and see more towns and cities being brought in.
